Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis

Hi, I have an infection of the tonsil bed and an out of hours doctor prescribed me some penicillin V on Saturday. He has prescribed 500mg 4 times a day and the pain is only getting worse. Swelling on my neck has not changed at all either and I have pain in my head, teeth and ear all on my right side. Any advice?
