11 Weeks ago I suffered a inward (medial?) rotation of my right ankle. Jumping, landed on lateral side of foot, rolled medially, Extreme swelling in ankle and foot. DARK bruising along lateral side of foot, and along arch. Bone scan focused on lateral side of foot and showed hot spots on cuboid and along top of ankle/foot joint. 11 weeks post: swelling returns to "cuboid area", tibia "ankle bone" and soft tissue along length of metatarsal 3 & 4.. Initially 3 weeks of RICE, 4 weeks of "go ahead and walk on it with a splint, it's just a sprain"then 4 weeks of immobility in eboot after bone scan and MRI (which I have electronic copies of). Am beginning transition to walking. But extreme tightness and tenderness in plantar such that I can feel the plantar tighten in my arch. Plantar tears with rolled ankle. Podiatrists have focused on skeletal damage... Real quick to "sign off" on and avoid soft tissue possibilities. continued swelling 3 months post concerns me.
