Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection, Cold And Fever During Pregnancy

Dear Doctor, I am 21 weeks pregnant and is suffering from throat infection cold and fever. I was unable to consult my gyn. I am hence taking paracetamol and mox 500 three times daily for three days on the advice of an ENT specialist. However I am still worried regarding the safety of my baby. Can you please advise me in this regard? Thanking you, Lekshmi

Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Common Cold is due to viral infection. Antibiotics are advised in case of bacterial infection. As your ENT specialist prescribed you can take it. Amoxycillin is a safe antibiotic in pregnancy. Take enough fluids. You can take warm chicken soup with pepper and tea with lemon. Have a follow up with your doctor if condition worsen.
