Suggest Treatment For Tear In Anterior Talofibular Ligament

I tore my anterior talofibular ligament almost 5 weeks ago. The doctor informed me it was shredded. I had a x-ray and don t have any broken bones. And then I had an MRI to determine the severity of my injury. I have been in a walking boot for 5 weeks starting the day of my injury. I don t go back for another week in a half for my follow up. I ve been having numbness and tingling in my toes and bottom of my foot for about 24-36 hours. My foot and especially my toes are freezing. And the lateral part of my tibia feels weird. It s an uncomfortable pressure. On occasion I ll get a sharp, deep pain from the medial part of my ankle and on the lateral side. The swelling is still there, and my pain medication has not been helping the past couple of days. Should I wait it out until my next doctors appointment or call and move it up? I m not sure if this is normal. Last time I tore this ligament(2 years ago) he put me in a cast immediately and I only had this problem 4 days after the injury.
