Suggest Treatment For Swollen Throat And Swelling On Her Tongue
Hi. My friend has randomly just had a swollen throat and then a little swelling to her tongue. She now has enlarged papillaes on the back of her tongue and they are spreading to the front. Her throat and ears are also itching. Should she go to the hospital or will she be ok?
As per your complain itching in throat, ears along with sore throat and tongue swelling are all pointing towards allergic reaction that is also causing inflammation inside mouth leading to inflamed papillae causing Papillitis..
I would suggest that she should take anti allergics like Levocetrizine and start doing warm saline gargle.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers Ibuprofen.. Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Gargling with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and Benadryl can help..
If there is no improvement or swelling on tongue increase consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and they can give injection of steroid for faster relief..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
