General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You should run blood tests and if necessary do an x-ray to look for soft tissue swelling or any bone defect. Do hot water gargles, take antibiotics and NSAIDs (over the counter) medicine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
