General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the painless lump after injury indicates organised hematoma most likely. My guidelines of protocol approach:
- Local application of ice
- Prescription of anti-inflammatory with proteolytic enzymes such as Diclofenac with serratiopeptidase, antibiotics such as Penicillin, Cephalosporin or others covering gram positive bugs to prevent secondary bacterial infection
- Regular periodic evaluation by your primary care provider to see the decline in the size

Certain cases which do not respond to above measures, may need an incision and drainage type surgical procedure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
