Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had 2 lymph nodes removed 2 weeks ago. I didn t experience any post-surgical pain. About a week post-op, I had a swollen inner elbow area. Raising my right hand straight produces pain from my wrist to my armpit. My surgeon has been out of town. I see her on Thursday.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Swollen and painful inner elbow of sudden onset may like be of infectious origin. The hand is a region where many nerve branches pass.A swelling may cause a nerve irritation or compression that may give you pain from wrist to armpit. The pain could as well be due to nerve irritation by the lymph node removal surgery if lymph nodes were removed around your armpit region. I will suggest you take a pain medication like ibuprofen, apply a local pain get like voltaren and observe. If the pain persist, you see your GP for evaluation. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
