Suggest Treatment For Swollen Blood Blisters On Roof Of Mouth

I ve been taking antibiotics for about 24 hours because the roof of my mouth was swollen as were my gums near a tooth where I have had a temporary filling with sedative. I saw my dentist yesteray for the problem. The swelling has decreased but now I have a large blood blister on the roof of my mouth. Should I call my dentist or should I let my general practitioner know because I ve also had some sinus issues lately? I can t tell if a blood blister in your mouth is appointment worthy. THank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that as you had a swelling over the gum of roof of the mouth where there was temporary filling with sedative seems to be due to deeper infection in tooth leading to formation of a dental abscess and the blood blister that you are experiencing is actually an abscess that is apperent due to pus accumulation under the gums..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and painkillers like Ibuprofen..
If the tooth is deeply infected a Root canal treatment has to be done for removal of infection and saving the tooth..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
