Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ankle Caused By An Injury

Hi, i was sitting on my bed and the outer side of my ankle was just resting on the metal side of the bed frame when my two year old daughter jumped and her entire weight landed on my ankle before she then fell on the floor with very hard impact, it was such a shock that i looked at my ankle almost straight away and it had swelled up i have a large egg shape and its puffy all around it and towards the heal of my foot and up onto the very bottom of my lower leg its very sore to walk on and very hard to keep my foot at a straight ankle it keeps going inwards.. thanks for you're help

Thanks for your query.
From description it seems to be soft tissue injury . Large egg shape lump might be due to haematoma formation(collection of blood).
You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury.
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
