Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Unable To Bent Finger
hello doc, i dislocated my middle finger about 9 weeks back. I wore a splint as per an orthipaedic surgeon s advice and after 10 days removed it and again my finger got bent in the middle joint . Now it is swollen and I can t either straighten it nor bend it below certain level. Please guide me
As during dislocation, there is ligament injury which takes place along with soft tissue damage. The first foremost thing I can advice is to meet up for the orthopedist to check out if you have not again re-dislocated your joint.
Also, I would advise you not to do much strain for now and make the finger and hand immobilized for now.
Once you confirm with the orthopedist that it's not dislocation than you can follow the exercises which will Include ROM and gradual strengthening exercise for the muscle groups first support ones and later the involved ones.
For time being use hot water fermentation and slowly move finger within the hot water bowl.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
