Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Both my legs are red and are swollen . also accompanied with some pain. I have no fever or chills and I have read many articles and getting confused. I have been to 5 doctors and have taken 3 different antibiotics. With little or no results. This has been going on for 3 months now. What could the problem be?
It is possible you could be having cellulitis with fever, which is infection of the soft tissues of the limb. Antibiotics will work in this case only if they are specific or broad spectrum types. Also perform limb elevation, cold sponging, anti-inflammatory medication like Tablet Ibuprofen 200mg twice a day over a meal if you have pain. Possibly blood culture or any drainable loculus of fluid if present can be sent for microbiological culture to find the right antibiotic to cure this.
Wishing you speedy recovery.
