Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Arm

made a blood donation, something went wrong (needle pierced through vein?) and my whole arm is swollen, bruised and in pain. a doctor at a clinic looked at it and said it was probable nothing to worry about. tylenol for pain and warm compresses for bruising and swelling

Hi thanks for contacting healthcare magic.

Here because of blood donation during somewhat faulty procedure, you have thrombophlebitis like condition.

Don't worry.Take ibuprofen like antiinflammatory drug for 3 to 5 days.

Apply cold compresses.

Thrombophob containing heparin gel can be applied over swollen area.

Do your CBC for rule out bacterial infection.If it shows neutrophilia antibiotic can be given.
