Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Hands

my son is 20 years old and for the past two months the fingertips on both of his hands are very swolen, and recently, there are lines appearing on the top of his nails. He said that it does not hurt or tingle, nevertheless, they are all getting abnormally large. Antibiotics did not work. So what could it be? A Concerned Mother...Thanks!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Swelling in hands in young male can be due to arthritis, hyperuricemia, hypoproteinemia, hypothyroidism etc.
So better to consult doctor and get done RA factor, serum uric acid level, serum protein level and thyroid function test.
You may need treatment based on these reports.
Don't worry he will be alright.
First diagnose him and then start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
