Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Legs, Sudden Weight Loss And Indigestion

My son iz 36 Years old, drinks a lot and he was hiding his swallen legs from me. I noticed he started loosing weight rapidly and having digestion problem. He did some lab tests and his bilirubin is 5.6. If he stops using alchohol and with help of proscribed medicine do you thing he can cure demmaged liver?

Loosing weight rapidly could be a grave symptom. If his liver has not gone into cirrhosis, then stopping alcohol and giving liver supplements can help regain his liver function. He will need a liver biopsy to confirm and an ERCP or MRCP to check his biliary ducts and whether he has gallstones. Swollen legs could be a sign of iver damage or kidney problems. So he needs to undergo a full checkup of his
1. Liver function tests
2. Renal function tests
3. Echocardiogram(scan of his heart)
4. Complete blood panel
5. Urine microscopy
6. Serum Electrolytes
