General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In my experience, you are probably suffering from Gout. It is a condition related to the raised uric acid level and affects the first metatarsophalangeal joint of the great toe in most of the cases.

When I get this kind of patients in my hospital, I prescribe them naproxen and colchicine, depending on the severity. I also advise lab test to measure Serum Uric acid level.

Further investigation may be required to find out the cause. Usually, the acute attack subsides within a week but may return for a second episode within a year.

As the drugs are prescription medications, visit a doctor and take medicine regularly to get cured.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Md. Shamim Reza, General & Family Physician
