Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In Tongue

hello its been nearly 3 weeks after i pierced my tongue . Its still swollen and when i wake up its a bit painful to move it , the pain goes away after i rinse it with salt and water . Although today i noticed that underneath my tongue got really red around the piercing and a lump is sticking out and it has a white dot on it . Im scared its an infection but unfortunately i cannot afford a visit to a doctor right now . What should i do and maybe there is any medicine or antibiotics that i could use ?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain pain in tongue along with redness and a bump with a white dot on it seems to be due to infection at the tooth piecing site leading to the following symptoms..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and also gargle with antiseptic mouthwash and do cool compresses over the bump.
In case if the infection is spreading you should remove the tongue ring and once it heals you should wear only gold or plastic earrings as they do not cause allergic reaction as being inert..

Hope you get well soon..

Thanks and regards..
