Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Inflammation Of The Wrists

I am 65 yr old. I Injured my wrist while pulling on a rope. Wrists got hot swellen, inflamed red and very painful for several days.i have arthritic wrists evidenced by MRI and X-ray. Got better on prednisone pack for six days. Once resumed daily activity, the same inflammation reoccurred.got prednisone shot in the wrist. Got better, but few days later the inflammation reoccurred for the second time. After wearing wrist brace and applying a lot of icing, I noticed a dent between the thumb and the index finger. They describe it on the Internet as atrophy first dorsal internsseous. Is this permenant? What doctor speciality should I see? On rheumatologist diagnosed as having auto immune disease ( poly analysis) and gave me hydroxychloroquin and prednisone 40 mg/ day. The second doctor told me to take instead colchicine for pseudo gout! I have an appointment with a rheumatologist in the middle of November in 4 weeks. Do I need to see a specialist right away?
