Suggest Treatment For Swelling After Scratching Finger

Hi on wednesday i had a stratch in my finger but i really don t know where i had it and it didn t bleed . Firstly i couldn t even felt it. The next day that stratch swellt a little. I m a little worried and i m wondering if i should have a tetanous vaccine???? Can you help me

Hi.

Swelling is common with any open wound, I wiuld first recommend cleaning it well eniugh with an antiseptic solution, and then applying a topical antibiotic over the region. Covering it will not be necessary.

As for the tetanus shot, it is always best to keep yourself covered and so I would recommend it.
