Suggest Treatment For Stress And Depression In An Elderly Person

I am badly suffering due to stress and depression since long. having age 62 ys now Served as govt. job and have got retirement 2 years ago. I got treatment from different psychotics few years ago but not benefited. Plz advise me do i use any antidepressant or any other treatment? DODOKHAN LAGHARI

It would be best to consider an antidepressant along with counselling.

Depression is a serious illness that can affect not only mental but physical health as well.

There are different types of anti depressants and you should be able to find one that suits you.
It can sometimes take 1 to 3 weeks for the medication to work.

Your GP or psychiatrist can prescribe your medication and initiate counselling sessions for you.
