Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat And Pneumonia

After recently kissing someone who was just diagnosed with strep throat & double pneumonia, am I at risk for contracting the same condition. Secondly may I have contributed to her catching it if I have felt fine? She was diagnosed with immune deficiency in the third grade.

Hi,

1. Strep throat and pneumonia are bacterial infection that are spread through saliva. Being in contact with saliva or air sparkles can put you at risk for contracting Strep throat. It depends on the your immunity if to develop the infection.

2. If you are a chronic/silent carrier, you can make others catch the infection although you feel fine.

3. Immunocompromised patients have higher risk to acquire such infection as their immunity is compromised.

Hope it answered to your queries!
