Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pain in my stomach for at least 3 weeks. Like a migraine headache that will not go away. I called the doctor for an appointment today. She said come in. I did and she took a urine test ,said I had a bladder infection. Told her I drink lots of water every day and go to the bath room quite a bit but no burning when I go. I have other medical problem like over loaded with iron, diagnosed in 2007 and my PC DR. at the time prescribe Fosamax and later Actonel which I took for over 5 years. In Spring on 2012 I heard a medical program that said if one has been on that drug get off it. The reason being fracture s of the hips ,femur etc. I saw my DR. and asked her if I should stop taking that pill. She paused and then said why don t you ask your thyroid Dr. who I saw every year in Nov. because of my iron overload which can cause thyroid problems. This was April when I asked my PC. I stopped taking that drug. In June I went with my daughter on a cruise ship out of Boston Ma. After we came back and docked we started home . On the way we stopped at a restaurant to eat. My daughter backed into a space against a curb holding back grass. She got out of the went to the back and while I was walking to the side back of the car she went to give me some brochure s .I moved my foot it hit the curb and I fell on grass .Felt like I broke every bone in my body I had fractured my femur. on grass. It was June 28 th. 2012. I was operated on and by Thursday July 5 th. transported 120 miles to the hospital in my city. I never got out till Aug. 3 d. At the present time there is only 2 things I can do or have done to get rid of the excess iron in my system That is taking a small white pill called XJADE which cost about # 16000. per year About 400. to me each month .My income is 1033. per month. Or have a partial phlebotomy like donating blood to the red cross every 4/5 months. so I can t have a full one done I am anemic. I was told by the Dr. and Pharmacist that it may cause an upset stomach. I read the info that was given me and find out it can cause so much more. Also the round white pill does not say the same on it like the pill on your website info. Now , what to do. ? Any advice ? Thank you.
