Suggest Treatment For Sores At The Corners Of Mouth

I HAVE A CRACK AT THE LEFT CORNER OF MY MOUTH. IT IS NOT SORE OR OOZING, JUST DRY AND A CRACK OR LIKE A SMALL SCAB. I SLEEP WITH MY MOUTH OPEN. TAKE NUMEROUS VITAMINS AND I AM ON HEART MEDICATION SINCE 1996 AFTER SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH. I.E.: NEXIUM 40 MG 1 DAY, CAPTOPRIL, METOPROLOL, ALPRASALAM .25 MG 4 TIMES DAY FOR IRRITABLE BOWEL (CAN T TAKE BENTYL, ETC BECAUSE OF REACTION OF SPEEDING UP HEART AND I HAVE A V-FIB ARRHYTHMIA. DIGOXIN 1 PER DAY. I ALSO TAKE NUMBEROUS VITAMINS AND NOT B COMPLEX. THIS SORE AT THE CORNER OF MY MOUTH HAS BEEN THERE FOR MANY MONTHS AND I HAVE TRIED MOISTURIZERS, ETC. I HAVE A BULLET JUICER AND CONSUME WALNUTS, KALE, SPINACH, ORANGES, GRAPEFRUITS, UNSWEETENED SOY MILK, BANANAS, FROZEN BERRIES, PARSLEY, TURKISH APRICOTS, ET AL. I EAT VERY HEALTHY BUT CANNOT GET RID OF THIS DRY SORE AT THE LEFT CORNER OF MY MOUTH. I CAN LIST THE VITAMINS THAT I TAKE REGULARLY FOR MY HEART, SKIN, HAIR, DRY MACULAR DEGENERATION, IF YOU THINK THAT MIGHT BE A CLUE? I AM 68 YEARS OF AGE., WHITE FEMALE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Welcome to HCM..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Angular Cheilitis leading to dry and cracked corner of the left side of mouth along with scab and can occur due to a number of common causes Iron deficiency or Anemia, fungal infection,ill fitting dentures, loss of teeth leads to folds of skin at the mouth corners,systemic diseases like Coeliac disease etc..

Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and proper investigation as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
Treating the underlying problem that is causing the symptoms will help in its resolution..

As of now you can also apply a thick coat of Petroleum jelly over the corners to relieve the dryness and smoothen the area..
Do cool compresses..
A low potency steroid ointment along with antibiotic ointment can also be advised..
Continue taking multivitamin tablet daily..
Drink plenty of water..
