Suggest Treatment For Sore Knot On Right Side Of Chest

I am a male and I take 300mgs of Bupropion daily which I started a month ago. This last week I developed kind of a knot on the right side if my chest, which was sore to the touch and felt bruised. After about three days it was gone, no sores or signs of it being there. Now I have developed on on the left side of my chest, same symptoms, a knot, sore to the touch and feels bruised. For lack of a better word or the medical term, both have been right behind the nipple? The only change that I can think of is I started Bupropion???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted a history about a male patient taking Bupropion since one month, developed a knot under the right nipple which got settled but similar knot under the left nipple.
Since the location of the knot is under the nipples the possibility of Gynecomastia should be kept in mind.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult a General Surgeon for clinical examination of the lump to see whether this is a Gynecomastia or something else.
If required get an Ultrasound done.
Discuss with the Doctor who gave you the medicines to decide the further doses and care.
Do not apply anything locally.
You can surely take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
