Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I have a small bump above the left side of my lip. I've had it for a few years. It doesn't hurt or casue discomfort. It just doesn't go away. Thinking it is a pimple I occasionally squeeze it and white stuff (pus?) comes out but it still doesn't ever go away. Tonight when I squeezed it I noticed that it had an odor. Can yu really have a perpetual pimple?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that a small lump over the upper lip that on squeezing releases white stuff or pus can be due to causes like an Ingrown hair, hair follicle infection or Folliculitis, inflamed sebaceous gland/oil gland etc..
You should consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination has to be done..
As of now you can apply a combination of steroid and antibiotic ointment over it.. Do warm compresses.. You should avoid picking it again and again as it can spread infection..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
