Hello! I have had a lot of problems with my tongue for the last 4 months. It causes me great discomfort. I have blister, ulcers on my tongue to the tip, sides and top surface. I've been to the doctors many times. I an being referred to a specialist as no one seems to know what the hell is going on. Can you help to explain what these are?

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have blister on your tongue for last 4 month . The most probable cause for blister on tongue is aphthous ulcer . Also known as canker sore . There can be many reasons for aaphthous ulcer like irritation from hot and spicy food , acidic food , minor trauma , continue irritation from dental appliance and deficiency of vitamin like vitamin B 12 and folic acid . Stress and anxiety could also be the reason . Usually they go away in few days without any treatment . But if they persist for longer period as in your case then consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis and to find out underlying cause . Doctor may order certain test for diagnosis. For now do betadine rinses .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
