Suggest Treatment For Sleeplessness Caused By Severe Depression And Anxiety

Hi, My brother is getting unwanted thoughts of his past life. He is epileptic and is under medication for almost 14years. He is having Eption ER 300, Tegritol CR 300 and Topaz 25. He is not able to lead a normal life as these thoughts interfere and could not sleep properly. He doesnt respond properly and interaction is very less. He is hearing voices of people and is not able to overcome it. Please let us know if this is due to epilepsy or any psychiatric problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As there is combination of sleep disorder with auditory hallucination, chances of chronic depression with insomnia are very high.

I would quote an expert psychiatrist opinion in this regard and get proper line of therapy in lieu of anti-depressant, behavior therapy and life style modifications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
