Suggest Treatment For Skin Discoloration Around The Hairline When Diagnosed With Seborrheic Dermatitis

So I had Seborrheic dermatitis, but I have been using head and shoulders, and oiling my scalp and I don t really have a problem with the flakes anymore. However, I have some discoloration on my hairline and it is driving me crazy. The skin on my hairline is now lighter than the rest of my face, and I have never had this problem in my life, and I don t know what to do about it!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of seborrheic dermatitis, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply an antifungal cream like Clotrimazole cream on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetrizine.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral Fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
