I have an abrasion on the lateral side of my big toe. it rubs against the second toe and was caused by friction from a bandaid on the second toe. I'm not sure what to do to help the healing process esp as I'm meant to run in 4 days time in an event. I'm wearing sandles where possible and cleaning twice per day. it's covered during the day to prevent further rubbing. it looks like a graze that you would wait to scab over. I have no other illnesses
Hi, Thanks for contacting HCM. With an abrasion on one of the toes caused by friction, there are a few remedies to help speed along the healing process. One is to put Neosporin on the area with a dry dressing. Keeping pressure off an abrasion site will let it heal faster as well. There are spacers available to put in between the toes to prevent the others from rubbing on the area. With no pressure to the area and application of Neosporin, an abrasion should heal uneventfully. I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions, I am here to help. Thanks.
