Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Suboxone

Hi I ve been on suboxone for two years I ve never had a dirty urine. I have been to all my meetings. My doctor calls me her perfect patient. That being said I was on Methadone for 6 years and did just as well. The treatment center I go to which it a 2 hour drive doesn t accept medicare for Methadone but will for suboxone. Over the last year I ve been having some problems with the suboxone, it makes me sick to my stomach at ti e to the point of vomiting . I don t swallow the liquid after its been under my tongue , I spit it 7 to the trash. My counselors idea. I m also in a lot of pain I m 56 and have liver disease, nerve damage in my neck, degenerative disc disease which has damaged my spine. I don t have any quality of life on the suboxone . I truly feel like I could have a better life if I could go back on the methadone . I live on the Va. WV. border any advice on how to go about this ? Wow should have known better than to expect anyone to help just because you re already a rich doctor. If I could afford to pay you I could afford to switch to the Medathone program. Thanks for the few minutes of hope I had while typing this. I don t have the money can I give e you my medicade, number ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Suboxone is FDA-approved to treat opioid dependence. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Suboxone is a recommended treatment for opioid dependence.

It helps treat opioid dependence by reducing the withdrawal symptoms that can occur when opioid use is stopped or reduced.

Suboxone side effects during management of opioid withdrawal symptoms can be managed by a detoxification program at a rehabilitation center.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
