Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Augmentin In An Infant

Hi, my 1 year old is taking augmentin for a double ear infection. Now he has a rash all over his body amd seems to have stomach cramping. How can i help alleviate this symptoms? He s very agitated, rubbing his ears, scratching his scalp constantly, squirming, and jerking his tummy

Thanks for posting on HCM
The symptoms he presents could be side effect of Augmentin. Augmentin however remains a very good drug for for ear infections.I will suggest you add an anti-histamine like premalan and observe.If the symptoms persist, you see your Prescribing Doctor for evaluation and possible change of drug.An ear drop like ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin drop may then be indicated.You just need to discuss it with your Doctor.
