Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath, dry Cough And Headache

Hello, I am 17. I have been to the hospital twice and a walk-in GP. I was concerned over my recent symptoms (Shortness of breath, dry cough, extreme fatigue, headaches, hoarseness of voice.) and a ER doctor performed a X-Ray on me. X-Ray came out just fine. They asked me the basic medical questions. They discharged me assuming that I had chest inflammation and prescribed me ibuprofen. That went horribly. It didn t help my symptoms at all. Went to the Walk-in GP. I was told I was having a allergic reaction... I asked for a MRI to address the concerns it could be Lung Cancer (I will explain my reasons as to why below) but I was denied due to the person currently seeing me being a Nurse. I was sent home there. Also, I do not have Pneumonia or any sort of flu or cold. The reason why I believe it s Lung Cancer is because I am not very active and recent reports suggest that theres a %6 percent chance of obtaining Lung cancer if you sit for more then 6 hours and being around secondhand smokers (which I am alot, due to my family being a very active smoking family) increases the risk by %30-40 percent. Can you help me some how?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
First of all, no need to worry at all for lung cancer as it is extremely uncommon at your age ( 14 years).
In my opinion you are having either asthma or bronchitis. As second hand smoke can cause both of the above.
And coughing with breathing difficulty are seen in both.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done PFT ( pulmonary function test ).
This will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug.
So no need to worry for lung cancer, consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
