Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath For A 39 Year Old Female
I m a healthy 39 year old female experiencing shortness of breath for over two weeks. I ve had bloodwork, CBC showed slight low in hemoglobin and RBC. I have history of an arterial blood clot 20 years ago due to anti phospholipid antibodies. My d-dimer and cat scan normal. EKG normal. Chest ex ray also normal. I m on prednisone and inhaler (albuterol) with of and on relief. I m at my wits end. My chest gets tight and u feel like I can t get a breath in and have to fight for a yawn.
The symptoms are of asthma exacerbation and I would recommend you to get pulmonologist consult. Getting a chest X-ray done as well will rule out other pulmonary causes. low hb is also a cause of worsening shortness of breath. Last, but not the least, do not panic as anxiety can also cause such shortness of breath.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
