Suggest Treatment For Shingles In Ear

Hello I was just reading about shingles symptoms. I am wtf 62 year old live in suburbs of Philadelphia. I have seen many Doctors at Penn Medicine. Anyway I have gotten the shingles in my left ear two times a year for eight years. Except w hen I had the shot. I have goiter thyroid diabetes 2 but my sugar last time was perfect. Yea! Reasonably healthy very wonderful life but very painful ear shingles. Right now I am taking 400mg acyclovir four times a day. Do you thing it is strong enough. And have to lay down. For a week or so. What else can I do why does come back???? Gail kessler
