Suggest Treatment For Severe Yeast Infection

Hi, my name is Madison. In April I was diagnosed with pneumonia and I was prescribed with 3 different medications. After I had used all of the medications I then contracted a yeast infection that was fairly severe. To get rid of it I used ointments, pills and yogurt. It seemed to calm down for a few weeks but it started back up. There was no itching or irritation even during sex but I am still having some thick discharge but most ofthe time it is milky with very few clumps. My boyfriend and I do have sex. My period was supposed to come on the first of the month but it hasnt occured. Im having very few cramps and Ive taken 10+ pregnancy tests and they all show up negative. Any advice or help will be much obliged! Thank you

Hello,

To get rid of severe yeast infection you can take a course of antifungals (Fluconazole) orally for five to seven days.

You can apply antifungal ointments like Miconazole after having a shower & drying the area affected.

Avoid using douches, perfumed vaginal sprays, take care of your hygiene & stop using public washrooms. Avoid sex while you are being treated.

If you had unprotected sex & were not on oral contraceptives & did not take emergency contraceptive pills either, you may be pregnant. Your body needs time to develop detected levels of HCG.

If you can't wait, contact a gynecologist get your pelvic examination done or a USG to confirm whether you are pregnant or not.

Stay away from stress & anxiety. Sometimes medications, weakness(low hemoglobin %) & hormonal imbalances may interfere with the menstrual cycle & cause a delay in periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
