Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain

Hello. About 4 days ago i noticed a pain that i thought was inside my throat. It feels deeper inside my neck. If i turn my head left and swallow there is a sharp pain that radiates from inside my throat up into my ear, under my jaw line. It is a pretty severe pain. After i do this it hurts in my ear and down my neck for a few minutes. I was wondering if this is muscular? I have no done anything knowingly to strain my neck. I am 6 5, 215 pounds with an athletic build. I am in good health. I am 32 years old.

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

Pain could be due to throat infection. I would suggest you following things:
> Take acetaminophen for pain
> Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.

AVOID:
> Chilled water
> Drinks
> Spicy food

If fever occurs or it continues then antibiotic therapy would be required.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health
