General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain and stiffness in the joint can be caused due to different reasons and finding the underlying cause is the first thing towards better management of the symptoms. Whenever a patient comes to my clinic with similar complains next best thing that I do with brief history of the symptoms and inspection of the joints that are causing problems.

There are certain blood tests and imaging tests needed to be done to find out exact cause for this. For instance, RA factor, ESR levels in the blood, CBC, x-ray of the involved joints are some of the important tests that a doctor should be advising you. I would suggest you to see a rheumatologist and explain all the issues. After careful examination and necessary tests, seeing the results he will suggest you the best management for your complaints.

You might be suggested to see a physiotherapist for appropriate exercises that help in relieving the pain and improve lifestyle. Hope this helps. If you have further queries, feel free to contact.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
