Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain Despite A Normal Blood Report

I m a 24 y/o female, I eat pretty well and I get exercise from work. I had been having stomach pain for a couple months which at times kept me from going to work. All of the sudden the pain became debilitating. I couldn t move without crying. After 4 days I made an appointment with my doctor. And she said I don t have a bacterial or viral infection. My hormones and vitamin levels are normal. She sent me home with stomach pain medicine, antibiotics, and a referral for a CT scan. She said if it didn t go away in 3 days to get the CT scan of my abdomen. Due to referral problems of both places its been a week and a half and not only has it not gotten better but I have new symptoms, severe.nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and recently shaking. I ve been out of work for 3 weeks and its killing me. My doctors office is taking forever. What can I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Sudden excruciating pain in abdomen along with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea can be due to the following reasons:
As your Doctor has told you, intestinal infection.
Any intra-abdominal pathology like appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis and so on.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon, examination an investigations:
Tests of stool and blood, gives the best idea.
CT scan as advised, if not being done in a routine way go to ER and get the investigations done.
A course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole and probiotics.
Drink only boiled for 20 minutes and cooled water.
Plenty of oral fluids. Soft bland diet.
Review with your Doctor after 5 days to have proper clinical evaluation, investigations and management as required.
