Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat And Excessive Salivation

For the past 9 days I have had a severe sore throat. I have swollen glands on the the right side of my neck. Sometimes I can t eat/drink for several hours due to pain in swallowing, where my whole body jerks in reaction to the pain. I also am salivating more than usual, but not as badly as day 3-4... I got tested for strep (both quick and culture), negative. 1-2 fevers per day and taking lots of ibuprofin/tylenol to no avail. Especially sore upon waking and seems to be migrating to the ball joint/lower molar area... What is it?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Severe throa pain, excessive salivation with fever suggests tonsillitis going for pus formation( peritonsillar abscess).

you require broad spectrum antibiotic and analgesics round the clock. if necessary drainage of pus required.

kindly visit an ent surgeon, for the same.

all the best, take care.
