Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Shoulders

doing any work with my right arm at shoulder height, my shoulder muscles get exhausted very quickly. I ve been working out for two months and made decent progress but my right delt gets tired easily. Also when I rotate my right arm, I hear a loud pop and it feels dislocated at times when I try to put my arm around my wife. What would cause all this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The MRI report is showing compression of nerve roots which is the cause of neck pain, stiffness, and radiation to shoulder.

The drugs should be increased and physiotherapy started. The decision of surgery should be postponed in absence of any weakness, sensation loss or unbearable pain.

Pregabalin, gabapentin, Amitriptyline can be used in increasing doses. Pain killers with muscle relaxant like aceclofenac or diclofenac with tizanidine or thiocholchicoside can be taken for relief.

Local pain reliever ointment can also be used like aceclofenac or diclofenac gel.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
