Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Lower Left Abdomen

Hi, I've been dealing with ovarian cysts off and on since my son was born in 2012. Ive had irregular menstrual cycles and very painful ovulation. Yesterday I recognized a sharp pain in my left lower abdomen and I immediately thought of a cyst. I went to the er about a year ago gor the same pain. It's very painful today on my left/lower side and I also have numbness and weakness on my left lower part of my leg, if I'm looking down the left side of my shin area. Could this have anything to do with a cyst? And what can I do for the pain? It seems like nothing is working.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
The pain in your left lower abdomen is likely due to the ovarian cyst being twisted/ burst.. causing pressure on nerve supplying the leg which is the cause of your symptoms of leg.Alternatively the same condition is possible in case of lumber spinal problem.
The treatment would be based on causative factor. You need a detailed physical examination, USG abdomen & CT scan/ MRI of lumber spine if needful.
In this context you should consult your gynecologist the earliest...she/ he will do basic examination & investigations to confirm/ exclude ovarian cyst problem & treat you accordingly/ refer you to nuro spinal doctor for further treatment.
Till then .. take rest, take light diet, do not massage or foment the part. You can take a pain medicine for temporary relief.
Thanks.
