HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
A
fracture would require severe trauma to the bones, you would needed to been struck hard at the ankle by some object or had a fall from at least a slight elevation.
It is more likely that there is damage to the ligament or tendon in the area. Tendon or
ligament injury can vary from mild to severe.
The abnormal sensation would be due to temporary disruption in
nerve function. This will improve.
With a history of decreased ambulation, abnormal sensations, your injury may be moderate to severe.
It may be best to see your doctor for an assessment.
Treatment consists of: (1) protecting the area from further injury
(2)rest - this involves decreased ambulation
(3)ice therapy for the first few days, this can be applied for 15 to 20 mins, 2 to 3 times a day
(4)compression bandage to prevent or reduce swelling
(5)elevation
(6)medication such as
naproxen,
ibuprofen, voltaren
I hope this helps
