Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Clitoris

For the past few days I ve been experiencing shots of pain in my clitoris. It seems that when I sit down and open my legs and just rest for a bit the pain goes away. But it ll come back a few hours or a day later. I ve also had some discharge (white, kind of cottage cheese like) but it doesn t seem to correspond with when I m feeling the pain. I m a virgin so it can t be any std or anything

Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

The combination of the discomfort around your clitoris and the thick vaginal discharge likely means you have a vaginal yeast infection. Yeast infections are not related to sexual activity, and are caused by an overgrowth of a fungus (Candida) in the vagina and surrounding skin folds. The pain in your clitoris is likely related to infection under the foreskin that covers it. Yeast thrives on heat and moisture so infections are more common in the summer, and in women who wear tight heavy clothing and who exercise a lot.

Treatment for yeast infections are available over-the-counter in most parts of the world. There are suppositories and creams that need to be inserted into the vagina, and there is an oral medication called Fluconazole, which can require a doctor's prescription. Whichever you choose, make sure you also purchase an antifungal cream (also available over the counter) to apply externally as well on your clitoris.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was ehlpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
