Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Neck Due To Degenerative Disc Problems
I have neck pains from degenerative disc problems, spurs, discs without cushioning, etc . C3-4-5. Pain in neck and bad headaches. No symptoms (numbness, etc.) to identify a specific area that can be identified for surgery (I m told) I have been taking Hydrocodone/ acetiminiphin 10/310? ( I think) along with Robaxin. Pain continues to get worse after a number of years. Is there a better treatment for this apparently unsolvable condition that might help with the pain until the root of the main problem is identified. Headaches are getting worse.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in neck due to degenerative disc problems . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like muscle spasm , nerve compression or heart problem like angina . Sometimes occipital neuralgia can also cause such symptoms . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with nerve conduction test and physical examination to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory , nerve supplement along with physical therapy . For now stay calm , take ibuprofen , apply warm compresses to neck , do not sit or work in one posture for long time ,do light stretching exercises under expert or acetaminophen for pain and take proper rest.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
