Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Osteoporosis

Hello. I am a 57 year old woman who in 2007 had a tree fall on my car as I was driving whichy caused a L-2 fx of the spine. I had a Kyphoplasty (I think that s how it is spelled) for a long time I was doing well. However, now I am having severe pain. I can hardly get up from my chair at times, to cough is so painful. I have severe osteoporosis and osteostenosis. What do you think is happening. Help??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. You might require drugs like bisphosphonates also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
