Suggest Treatment For Severe Migraine

My husband has severe migraine and he claims that whiskey seems to numb his senses so that he can sleep well once the attack subsides. To this effect he has started drinking 2 to 3 pegs of whiskey daily. I have two little kids and too worried about my husband s future. He works from home and has very less physical activity owing to his perennially fatigued state. Please advise!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear mam

The sedentary life style has always aggravated a lot of health conditions.
Instead of a regular hard drink we can start with a regular light exercise ,a warm water therapy along with dietary modifications.
Physical exercise & yoga do lift a lot of chemicals in our brain to curb the chronic migraine.
Though it is time taking and difficult for him at this juncture but i am sure of a long term benefit.
Hope this helps
