Welcome to HCM. Sorry about the illness. This severity has been reported by some who have actually lost their voice for a long time. Just keep with the medical treatment and course and after you antibiotics are done give it a week and report back to your doctor if symptoms have not resolved. In your question paragraph you state that you do not have a problem swallowing so as long as you are able to eat, I would be confident that things will turn their course. I hope this helps and good luck.
