How Can Difficulty In Swallowing Due To Throat Cancer Be Treated?

My husband is going through cancer treatment for the Throat and neck...we re into week 7 of agressive treatment. This weekend he cant swallow, hes on a feeding tube. Do the medicines Zofram and Compazine come in a liquid form? We will be at treatment Monday and I will ask. I just was curious for his comfort. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The difficulty in swallowing is due to underlying carcinoma pathology and its sequences.

The Zofran is available in dispersible tablet and Compazine can be crushed to be fed through the Ryle`s tube for instant results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
