Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

I have pain in the back of my L knee for long time due to Knee pain. After knee surgery, the pain is still there and I feel it when I bend and extend my knee. PT said it will go away eventully but it has been 5 months since the L Knee surgery and the pain has not been relieved. Knee surgeon has ordered a lumber spine MRI. will it show the reason for back of knee pain? I feel it could be my ligaments or tendons are so tight due to long term knee pain and MRI may not show anything? Please let me know if I should go ahead with MRI? Thanks

Hi,

Yes, it can for sure show the cause of this pain. You should do MRI also on your knee, not only your back.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
