Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain And High Cholesterol

I am a 65 year old male, active and my recent cholesterol is 224 with LDL of 147; HDL of 56 and Tri of 103. My physician seems to feel I am HIGH although even when I ran marathons I was around 200 in cholesterol. What is your opinion. I am otherwise healthy except for knee problems of which one was replaced and I have issues of possible some arthritis due to the knee issue and scar tissue

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. For an age above 60 years it is high. LDL should be below 100. Triglyceride should be below 100 optimally. If you having hypertension or diabetes this increases the risk for ischemic heart disease. Taking Statin regularly will be helpful to normalize the cholesterol levels.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
